What to Eat (Swahili) - Diabetes Series

Nini kinafaa kula. By Global Health Media Project: https://globalhealthmedia.org Over thousands of years, people have learned to combine different foods to create healthy ways of eating – with the exception of the modern western diet. The shift to highly processed foods, worldwide, underlies the rise of obesity, diabetes, and other diet-related chronic diseases. Although there is no single ideal diet, this video describes how to eat a healthy diet by eating real whole food – as our families ate before the coming of industrialized food. This video is one of over 30 videos in our series on diabetes prevention and care. The videos are targeted for three audiences: health care workers – to help guide providers in developing countries in good diabetes care; people with diabetes – to improve their knowledge and home care; and the general public – to increase their understanding of diabetes, with the aim of greater awareness of the risks and symptoms, and ways to prevent type 2 diabetes. Medicine’s Response to the Changing Science on Fluoride Safety

Ironically, the anti-fluoridationists had historically been accused of their "anti-scientific attitudes," but now it’s many of the pro-fluoridationists. How did the medical and dental community react to U.S. regulators’ total 180 over water fluoridation, going from presumptively safe to presumptively dangerous? We can get the best of both worlds with topical application of fluoride, so I continue to advocate for the use of fluoride toothpaste, but pregnant and breastfeeding women may want to consider non-fluoridated water sources to reduce the apparent risk to the developing brain. This is the final video in my series on water fluoridation. If you missed any of the others, see: • Why Is There Fluoride in Water? Is It Effective? 7 Amazing Health Benefits of Aloe Vera | What's Aloe Vera Good For?

7 Amazing Health Benefits of Aloe Vera | What's Aloe Vera Good For? In today's video, we'll talk about aloe vera and its incredible health benefits. Aloe vera, a popular medicinal plant, is known for its antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It has a wide range of health benefits, including: Skin Health: Aloe vera can be applied topically to the skin to help with various skin conditions. For instance, you can apply aloe vera gel directly to the affected area to help reduce acne and skin inflammation. To help with skin injuries, you can apply aloe vera gel to the wound to speed up the healing process. For general skin health, you can incorporate aloe vera into your skincare routine by using products that contain aloe vera, such as moisturizers and face masks. Dental Health: Aloe vera can be used in various ways to improve dental health. You can use aloe vera tooth gel, which is effective in controlling bacteria that cause cavities. It's less harsh on teeth compared to regular toothpaste, making it a good alternative for people with sensitive teeth. Additionally, mouth rinses containing aloe vera can help reduce gingivitis and plaque accumulation. Digestive Health: Aloe vera juice can be consumed to help with digestive issues. It can be used as a tonic for the digestive system to soothe the stomach and relieve intestinal discomfort. It can also help with constipation by increasing the water content in your intestines, stimulating peristalsis, and helping you pass stool normally. Blood Sugar Management: Aloe vera can be consumed in the form of juice or supplements to help manage blood sugar levels. Nutrient-Rich: Aloe vera juice is packed with nutrients. Interestingly, aloe vera is one of the only plant sources of vitamin B-12, making it a valuable resource for vegetarians and vegans Antioxidant Properties: Aloe vera juice is a rich source of antioxidants, which help fight free radicals. This lowers oxidative stress on your body and reduces the risk of chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Weight Loss: Oral use of aloe is promoted for weight loss, although more research is needed to confirm this benefit. Aloe vera can be consumed in various ways, depending on your preference and the health benefits you're seeking. It’s generally safe to eat the gel inside the aloe vera leaf, as well as the skin. Wash the skin or gel thoroughly to remove traces of latex, which can have unpleasant and potentially harmful side effects. Did you enjoy learning more about the uses and benefits of aloe vera? Chronic Cough | Diagnosis, Causes, and Treatment

What is a Chronic Cough? This video covers the medical definition and provides a brief overview of this topic. 💥Chronic Cough [Full Guide] ➜ ➜ ➜ https://bit.ly/3Ug0aGa ➡️ Causes A chronic cough can stem from a variety of underlying conditions, reflecting the complexity and interconnection of the respiratory and related systems in the body. It is often a symptom of persistent issues such as asthma, where inflammation and sensitivity lead to frequent coughing, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), in which stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, irritating the throat and airways. Smoking is another common culprit, causing irritation and damage to the respiratory tract that can persist long after cessation. Postnasal drip, where excess mucus from the nose drips down into the throat, can also trigger a chronic cough, as can conditions like chronic bronchitis, a form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) characterized by inflamed and narrowed airways. In some instances, a chronic cough may indicate more serious conditions such as lung infections, lung cancer, or heart failure, where the cough serves as a significant warning sign. The precise cause can be elusive and may require thorough investigation by healthcare professionals to identify and treat effectively. ➡️ Signs and Symptoms The hallmark sign of a chronic cough is its persistence, lasting eight weeks or longer in adults and four weeks in children. Beyond its duration, the symptoms accompanying a chronic cough can vary widely, often providing clues to its underlying cause. For instance, a chronic cough may be dry or produce mucus (sputum), and it may worsen at night, impacting sleep quality. Individuals with a cough related to asthma might experience associated symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. In cases where gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the culprit, symptoms could include heartburn, chest pain, and a sour taste in the mouth, especially after eating or lying down. Postnasal drip often leads to a sensation of mucus trickling down the back of the throat, which can cause frequent throat clearing, a sore throat, and sometimes hoarseness. When a chronic cough is caused by more serious conditions like lung cancer or heart failure, it might be accompanied by significant weight loss, unexplained fatigue, swelling in the legs, or a change in the cough's character. These varied symptoms underscore the complexity of diagnosing a chronic cough, as they reflect the diverse range of potential underlying conditions. —- If you want to support the channel, please like and subscribe, I would greatly appreciate it. 💥Chronic Cough [Full Guide] ➜ ➜ ➜ https://bit.ly/3Ug0aGa ————— 📘 FREE STUFF ▪ Free Cheat Sheets 👉 https://bit.ly/3IKenWk ▪ TMC Practice Exam 👉 http://bit.ly/2XlwASL 📗 PASS THE TMC EXAM ▪ TMC Test Bank 👉 https://bit.ly/3QNqwLX ▪ TMC Exam Hacks 👉 https://bit.ly/3iLmVS2 ▪ Daily TMC Practice Questions 👉 http://bit.ly/2NnXh3C ▪ TMC Bundle (Save $) 👉 https://bit.ly/3CWhdUn 📕 MORE FROM RTZ ▪ Test Bank (Free) 👉 http://bit.ly/2Kp73ln ▪ Glossary 👉 https://bit.ly/3g6s4Pj ▪ About Us 👉 http://bit.ly/2Xgk5YH ▪ Testimonials 👉 http://bit.ly/2x7b5Gl 🌐FOLLOW US ▪ Instagram 👉 http://bit.ly/2FhF0jV ▪ Twitter 👉 http://bit.ly/2ZsS6T1 ▪ Facebook 👉 http://bit.ly/2MSEejt ▪ Pinterest 👉 http://bit.ly/2ZwVLPw ▪ Rumble 👉 https://bit.ly/3p7IS0H ▪ LinkedIn 👉 https://bit.ly/41uO2lx 🚑MEDICAL DISCLAIMER This content is for educational and informational purposes only.
